What does it mean to be happy?

What is necessary for happiness?

Society, political institutions, scientist, all other people are perpetually considering these two questions.  some base their professions upon searching for the answers… Others come up with answers and then apply them to their personal lives unflinchingly.  The answers become measures for success.  Sometimes they can eclipse the whole point.  At other times they can add greater value to the quality of happiness.  My answer is within humanity.  Connectivity as a measure of success.

My blog explores this aspect of happiness.  Particularly how all parts of humanity–independent humans or those in groups–are reliant upon each other for happiness. The individual is an integral part of the community.  Thus the happiness of the individual and happiness within the community are connected.  The Laughing club is one very specific example of positive community interaction.  Laughing benefits the individual internally, but it also builds connection.  Connection and Engagement to community is next.  I try first to define the many layers of “Community.”  And from there I work to show how interdependent the individual and the community are.  There are very well established schools of thought that separate the majority and the individuals.  Yet communities are formed of individuals.  We are all seeking happiness separately, but are all united in the search.

Laughter connects you with people, its almost impossible to maintain any kind of distance or any sense of social hierarchy when your just howling with laughter. Laughter is a force for democracy.
